Shelley has a heart for working with trauma clients who are victims of abandonment, attachment disorders, and physical, mental and emotional abuse. She works to develop a safe and healing environment where clients begin to heal, as they feel safe to tell their stories and are believed.
Shelley works to help clients deal with anxiety and panic attacks to create a better quality of life. Anxiety therapy will provide you with the tools to overcome anxiety.
Shelley is a Licensed Professional Counselor (Texas) and a Marriage and Family Therapist (Florida) with over 6 years of experience. She is a professional trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, brain spotting, polyvagal theory, and trauma-focused equine assisted psychotherapy. She has thousands of hours of direct client contact with a diverse range of diagnosis specializing in issues of PTSD and trauma, anger management, grief, depression and anxiety. She specializes in providing marriage therapy for couples, parenting, as well as individual adult issues.
Shelley graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling. She also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. As a DTS student, she completed her counseling internship at HopeWorks Counseling Center, which is the counseling division of June Hunt’s Hope for the Heart Ministries. She began her counseling work in Carrollton Springs Hospital in Plano, Texas as a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Group Therapist as well as working for Stages of Change, an equine assisted therapy program for trauma and addiction clients for Healing Springs Treatment Center in Tiago, Texas, and private practice. Now, she provides telehealth counseling for clients in Texas and Florida as well as equine assisted therapy for Veterans suffering from PTSD for the Rise Up program in Hastings, Florida.
